How To Remove Stains Caused By Excessive Armpit Sweating
Perspiration stain got ya’ down? No worries–this is how to get rid of them.
First off, the sooner you act the better. If you begin treating the stain almost immediately after it happens, your chances of removing it are much higher. (i.e. If you’re still wearing the shirt, now would be a good time to take it off and start pre-treating it.)
Home-Made Perspiration Stain Solutions
1. Baking Soda - make a paste out of baking soda and water. Rub on ASAP to remove sweat stain. Let sit for at least 20 minutes before washing.
2. White Vinegar - same. Apply vinegar directly to remove sweat stain. Let sit for at least 20 minutes before washing.
3. Bleach - mix a teaspoon of bleach into some water. Apply to affected area and let sit for a while before washing.
There’s a common thread in pre-treating perspiration stains you may have noticed (if you’re clever).
* Start ASAP. Don’t wait a week before pre-treating.
* Apply solution directly to stains.
* Let it sit for a little while before you wash it.
This is like rocket science, I know, but bear with me.
To prevent sweat stains in the first place, you can change antiperspirants. The whiteness of the stain is caused by the aluminum compound in your antiperspirant.
Switch to a regular (non-antiperspirant) deodorant or a salt crystal antiperspirant.
